Before you send
Two things are worth knowing, because they save everyone time.
Coverage is never guaranteed. A submission gets a read, not a review. We may decline it, we may hold it for a future guide, or we may publish nothing. Payment and samples do not change that, and neither buys a favourable verdict.
We only cover what fits. Dovelyne writes for households making practical decisions about school, pets, food, money, home life, things to do and family shopping. A product outside that is not a bad product, it is just not one our readers came here for.
What to include
The form asks for all of this. The first four items are what we genuinely cannot assess a product without.
- What it is, and what problem it solves for a household
- Who it is for, specifically, rather than “everyone”
- Price, including the currency
- Which countries it is available in
- Specifications, certifications and any relevant safety standard it meets
- A link to the official product page
- A press kit or image assets, if you have them
- What makes it different from the obvious alternative

Samples
Do not send a physical product before we have replied. Unsolicited items may not be acknowledged, assessed or returned.
If we do agree to receive a sample, these terms apply.
- Receiving a sample creates no obligation to publish anything
- Receiving a sample creates no obligation to reach a positive conclusion
- Samples may not be returned unless agreed in writing beforehand
- Where a product was supplied by the brand, the article says so
What we will and will not claim
If we have used a product ourselves, and kept a dated test record, the article says it was hands-on tested. If we have not, it says what we actually did instead, such as comparing published specifications or drawing on independent testing that we cite.
We will not describe using something we have not used, however the submission is framed. Our publishing system blocks a hands-on claim without a test record behind it, as described in how we verify.
Digital products, apps and services
Software, subscriptions and services are welcome. For these, the useful equivalent of a sample is working access: a demo, a trial that does not expire in two days, or a test account. Say in the form whether that is available.
