This policy explains what Dovelyne collects and what happens to it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store the email address you give us and the page you subscribed from. That is all we ask for and all we keep.
When you visit a page, our hosting and analytics record the standard technical information every website receives: the page requested, the time, a truncated IP address, your browser and device type, and the page you came from.
We do not ask for your name, address, phone number or date of birth, and we have no account system.
Why we collect it
The email address is used to send the newsletter you asked for and the resource you signed up to receive. It is not sold, rented or traded, and we do not send it to advertisers.
Technical information is used to understand which articles are useful, to keep the site working and to detect abuse.
Cookies
Dovelyne sets no advertising cookies of its own.
Where analytics or, in future, advertising is used, those services may set their own cookies. Where display advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated before it goes live, naming the provider and what it sets. Your browser settings can block or delete cookies at any time, and the site works without them.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link you leave Dovelyne and arrive at a retailer. That retailer may set a cookie recording that you arrived from us, which is how commission is attributed. We do not receive your name, your payment details or a record of what you bought. Their privacy policy governs what happens once you are on their site.
Third parties
Dovelyne uses third-party services for hosting, email delivery and analytics. Those providers process data on our behalf and only for those purposes. Some may store or process data outside Australia.
We do not sell personal information.
Keeping and deleting it
Subscriber addresses are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the bottom of any email we send.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and we will act on it. The contact page is the way to do that.
Children
Dovelyne is written for adults running households. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Australian privacy law
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will investigate. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it.
