For PR agencies, communications teams and in-house press offices. If you are a brand contacting us directly, work with Dovelyne is the better starting point, though either route reaches the same editors.

How to reach us

Use the form at the bottom of this page and choose “Press / PR” as the enquiry type. It routes to the right place and captures the detail we would otherwise have to ask you for.

We prefer this to an untracked email. A submission sent through the form is stored, read and attributable, which is better for you as well as for us.

What we do with a press release

We read it. We do not republish it.

A press release is a starting point for research, not content. If an announcement is relevant to the households we write for, it gets checked against primary sources and manufacturer documentation like anything else, and what we publish is our own work. We do not run supplied copy as editorial, and we do not publish announcements as news.

We are not a breaking news site. Something that is only interesting on the day it is announced is usually not something we can use.

What gets a reply

Honestly, most releases do not, and it is not personal. We are a small operation.

What improves the odds considerably:

  • It concerns a decision a household actually has to make
  • There are specifications, certifications or documentation behind the claims
  • Pricing and the countries of availability are stated
  • It is relevant beyond a single announcement date
  • It is genuinely aimed at our subject areas rather than sent to a list

What does not help: follow-up chasers, an exclusive framing we did not ask for, or a release with no product detail attached.

Embargoes

We will respect an embargo we have explicitly agreed to. We have not agreed to an embargo simply because one was written at the top of an unsolicited email.

If an embargo matters to you, say so in the form and wait for confirmation before sending anything sensitive under it.

Assets

Send a link to a press kit rather than attachments. We use manufacturer imagery only where we have the right to, and we credit it where required.

We do not publish supplied imagery that misrepresents a product, and we will not present a staged marketing image as though it showed our own use of something.

Corrections

If we have published something inaccurate about a brand you represent, the corrections policy sets out how that is handled and how quickly. It is the same process for a brand as for a reader: we check the evidence, and we correct what is wrong.

We will not remove accurate, sourced criticism on request.
